Create tasks and ask questions

  • Create a taskAsk “@WeMachines open a ticket for this.” It creates a task from the thread and attributes it to the person asking.
  • Answers from the workspace“@WeMachines what’s blocking the launch?” It looks the work up and replies in the thread, never in the channel’s main flow.

Installing it

  1. 01Open your WeMachines workspaceEvery workspace starts with its first month free on Start-up. Creating one takes a team name.
  2. 02Plugins → Slack → Add to SlackAn admin starts it, on any plan. Slack asks which workspace to install into, and you approve there.
  3. 03Invite it to a channelType /invite @WeMachines wherever you want it. It sees those channels and no others.
  4. 04Mention itThere is no slash command. @WeMachines is how you reach it.

Choose what it can read. Nothing is shared until an admin allows it.

Off Default. Files tasks, answers questions about WeMachines itself.
Limited Adds the board - tasks, statuses, members.
All Adds documents, team chat, huddle summaries.

Access and limits

  • Workspace members onlyYour Slack email must match a member of the connected WeMachines workspace.
  • Only channels it was invited toIt cannot read other Slack channels or direct messages.
  • One team, one SlackOne Slack workspace connects to one WeMachines workspace. Enterprise Grid org-wide installs aren’t supported.
  • Some things stay in WeMachinesStarting a machine on a task, posting in your team chat and anything on your own calendar are out of reach from Slack at every setting.
