WeMachines vs Jira
Jira offers configurable issue tracking and project workflows. WeMachines uses a task list and board alongside chat, docs, calls and machines. This comparison focuses on the work your team needs to track and review.
Configuration
WeMachines tasks have statuses, labels, topics and priorities. Admins can change the status columns. GitHub workflow rules determine when pushes and pull requests move tasks on the board.
Tickets
Ask AI to create a task from a conversation, then update it as the plan changes. GitHub workflow rules can move tasks when code is pushed or merged. Completed tasks are kept. After 14 days they move into the grey zone, so the board stays on current work and search still finds the old ones. Keep lasting decisions in Docs.
AI
Hand a task to a machine. It works on a branch and opens a pull request for review. You can also connect Claude Code, Cursor or Codex through MCP. The board shows which task a connected agent is working on. You can also ask machines to research questions or edit docs, and use routines for recurring work.
AI models
Choose a model for each machine from the WeMachines catalog. AI usage comes from a shared credit balance. Models marked ZDR use zero data retention; this includes the models used by built-in AI features.
Apps and routines
Describe an internal tool in Apps, then review the first version and ask for changes. WeMachines hosts it and saves each version. Apps are in early access. Routines can run scheduled work and post results to a channel.
Where Jira is ahead
Jira may suit teams that depend on detailed agile reporting, issue types, permissions and JQL. Check those needs before moving to a task system with fewer configuration options.
Side by side
