WeMachines vs ClickUp
ClickUp combines tasks, docs, dashboards and other planning tools. WeMachines combines chat, tasks, docs and calls with machines that can research, write and work on code. Here is how the workflows compare.
Settings
In WeMachines, organize tasks with statuses, labels and topics. Use a list or board to follow the work. If your team needs a separate internal tool, ask a machine to build an app.
AI
Ask a machine to create tasks, edit docs or research questions. For code, it works on a branch and opens a pull request. Use routines for recurring work, and skills for instructions your team maintains.
AI models
Choose a model for each machine from the WeMachines catalog. AI usage comes from a shared credit balance. Models marked ZDR use zero data retention; this includes the models used by built-in AI features.
Transparency
Machines can use chat, tasks, docs, call transcripts and connected repositories as context. You choose which docs they read. Team channels are visible to everyone in the workspace, so agree on that level of access before moving your conversations. Whispers are end-to-end encrypted, readable only by the two people in them.
Tickets
Hand a task to a machine. It works on a branch and opens a pull request for review. You can also connect Claude Code, Cursor or Codex through MCP. The board shows which task a connected agent is working on. Completed tasks are kept. After 14 days they move into the grey zone, so the board stays on current work and search still finds the old ones.
Apps and routines
Describe an internal tool in Apps, then review the first version and ask for changes. WeMachines hosts it and saves each version. Apps are in early access. Routines can run scheduled work and post results to a channel.
Where ClickUp is ahead
ClickUp may suit teams that need features such as whiteboards, time tracking and goals in the same product. Compare the features you use daily with the setup and upkeep they require.
